The service
The Vinyl Map is a free directory of record stores, combo shops, and listening bars. Listings are independently researched and dated, but the world changes — hours, addresses, and whether a shop is open can be wrong or out of date. Information is provided "as is," for general reference, with no guarantee of accuracy or availability. Always confirm details with the shop before relying on them.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Scrape, harvest, or bulk-copy the site's data except as expressly permitted;
- Interfere with, overload, or attempt to breach the site's security;
- Submit false, misleading, unlawful, infringing, or abusive content;
- Impersonate a shop or person you are not authorized to represent.
Claiming a shop & owner content
If you claim a shop, you confirm you are authorized to represent it. Verified owners can post content such as events and photos ("Owner Content"). You keep ownership of your Owner Content, and you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute it on the site for the purpose of operating the directory.
By posting Owner Content you represent that:
- You have the rights to it (including any photos, logos, and artwork);
- It is accurate and not misleading, unlawful, or infringing;
- It does not contain anything you are not authorized to publish.
We use a light-touch review model: Owner Content may publish immediately, and we may hide or remove any content, or suspend access, at our discretion — for example if it is inaccurate, abusive, or violates these terms.
Our content
The site's design, text, and compiled dataset are ours or our licensors'. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, used under its license. You may link to the site and reference individual listings, but you may not reproduce the compiled dataset as a whole.
Affiliate links & advertising
The site may contain affiliate links, and we may display advertising. If you buy something through an affiliate link, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. As an Amazon Associate (or member of similar programs) we earn from qualifying purchases.
Disclaimers
The site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not warrant that listings are correct or that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Vinyl Map and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of — or reliance on — the site or any listing. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us to use the site, which is zero.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Vinyl Map and its operators from claims arising out of Owner Content you submit or your misuse of the site.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which The Vinyl Map is operated, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be brought in the courts located there.
Changes
We may update these terms; material changes are reflected by the "last updated" date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
